News

Soon this guy pioneered the site's birth, and two weeks later FUPEI.com was online. Three days after it was launched on May 3rd, 2004, FUPEI.com has 400 members registered , and several days later the site traffic has seen a tremendous increase in page views and visits. One month after its start-up, all the stats are rocketing high, especially after some computer media in Indonesia exposed FUPEI.com in their articles.
What is
FUPEI.com anyway ? You could simply associate this site with ?a
friendster-like site?. Well, not just that. FUPEI is built upon Postnuke and several modules ? all of them are free and open source. The site developer only made several customization such as friend linking module and theme (off course). The rest of the modules are e.g. Photoshare, XForum, Messenger, AutoTheme Lite, etc, which you can find on the net.
This site is still under steady and continuous development. Our developers are still tweaking codes and theme templates aimed to reduce the server load and to save bandwidth, while on the other hand to bring a better experience for the users. Some friends from
Indonesian Postnuke Community also have volunteered to assist us in improving the system.
But of course, thanks to postnuke and all the modules, the system is already stable, realiable and secure. Our next plan is to find a sponsor, since our hosting service provider already stated that FUPEI.com is consuming a lot of resources, and suggested that we upgrade the account :-(
To all the developers whose modules are used on FUPEI.com, we'd like to express our gratitude. FUPEI.com would take longer time to develop without your modules. Please
inform us if you think we have violated your license, since we don't have a clear understanding on legal terms. Last but not least, our gratitude goes to all postnuke developers ? and of course, to all postnuke communities world-wide.
On behalf of FUPEI.com's developer

We have created a formal PostNuke Language Packs project to aid in translation of PostNuke CMS into as many languages as possible. David Nelson (Language Pack Co-ordinator) runs the
"pnLanguages" project at the
NOC. Murilo Pinto assisting in this project. More volunteers to follow.
On the communications front we now have a new co-ordinator, Franz Skaaning aka lexebus of LEXeBus.NET, we hope he can continue our communications revolution that was so necessary. He has professional experience in this area so he is well qualified for the job.
We would like to welcome Senne Van Baelen AKA donkeybe as a new forum moderator.
We have added more developers to the fold: Devin Hayes aka InvalidResponse, Franky Chestnut and Chris Miller aka r3ap3r.
Devin is an active module developer and has release scores of well coded modules into the community. Franky Chestnut from
PNConcept is also another fantastic programmer, and Chris Miller is noted for his bug fixes to PostNuke. We are very proud to have these people on the development team.
This is a very exciting time at PostNuke with so many improvements in every area designed to ultimately benefit you, the pnUser.

Mambo
Xaraya (not sure if I'll support that yet, maybe wait until it's 1.0 release, since it has so many beta releases)
If you post a CMS or forum, please also post it's URL as well, so that I can download it to look at the SQL dump.
Thanks!

We offer a unique view of the city of Madison geared to both locals and tourists.
The Madison Business Journal spotlights and profiles Madison businesses and trends in the economic and business sector with resources for small and large businesses
Just 80 miles west of Milwaukee and 142 miles northwest of Chicago, Madison, Wisconsin, is a veritable hotbed for free speech and free thought. Its history of grassroots activism and political progressivism, its' citizens belief in the benefits of hard work, the availability and access to educational resources and the careful stewardship of the land all have cast a favorable spotlight on this Midwestern mecca.
It's no wonder with four beautiful glacial lakes; burgeoning corporate and small-business communities; neat and tidy neighborhoods; brewpubs, wine bars and cigar bars; gardens; museums; and the educational, cultural and social stimulation afforded by one of the nation?s best state universities, Madison has something for everyone.
So, get ready to browse through the most comprehensive guide available to this renaissance city. We wish you many enjoyable and invigorating discoveries!
We have chosen PostNuke for its ease of use, power, as well as the look and feel of the infrastructure that PostNuke provides.
We believe the cost of deployment and the support of open source will also serve to benefit the Madison Tech community and hopefully will create Open Source jobs in the Madison economy

A lot of hockey fans use already the opportunity to retrieve information from the official site of the Icehockey WCH 2005. Besides latest news the site offers information on ticketing, packages and the game schedule.
PostNuke was used with slight modifications by handling the theme and some modules, necessary to fit the needs.

The main problem here is most schools are filled with technophobes thus I had the responsibility to take their work and create a webpage and link it into the school website.
This was after nagging people for the content. I delved into the world of Linux and whilst there came accros PostNuke and PHP Nuke. Trying various stuff out on personal pages. In November 2003 I decided it (PostNuke) was good enough and yet easy enough to use for the school website. It has been slow to take off with the teachers but some are now adding their own content as all they have to do is remember another password to login (some find this really difficult).
The site is no way perfect, but because of its nature, the ease of use, etc the BGFL (Birminghma Grid for Learning) chose my site for website of the week. BGFL is the portal where all schools access the Internet in Birmingham UK.
The site is not perfect and in no way finished yet graphically or with what I want it to do.
So I would like to pass the thanks on to the PostNuke team for the system and there hardwork which has helped our school win this award.
Cheers

First of all, this is a BETA VERSION. It's not supposed to "hit and run", because there might be some files which are heavily hacked -- yes, you can do that to translations, too :-)
That's because I used for quite some time pncUserHack (affecting NS-User, NS-NewUser and NS-Your_Account) and some News hacks. Also, Extended Topics and AT Lite Blocks might have different defines. But, anyway, that won't stop your site from working, of course. And bear with me, as this is a one man job.
But, please, send me your patches, so I can clean it up and release a FULL CORE COMPATIBLE TUpInUKIM, ok?
