Four Dwellings High School (UK) Website of the Week

Contributed by on May 24, 2004 - 04:12 AM

The main problem here is most schools are filled with technophobes thus I had the responsibility to take their work and create a webpage and link it into the school website.

This was after nagging people for the content. I delved into the world of Linux and whilst there came accros PostNuke and PHP Nuke. Trying various stuff out on personal pages. In November 2003 I decided it (PostNuke) was good enough and yet easy enough to use for the school website. It has been slow to take off with the teachers but some are now adding their own content as all they have to do is remember another password to login (some find this really difficult).

The site is no way perfect, but because of its nature, the ease of use, etc the BGFL (Birminghma Grid for Learning) chose my site for website of the week. BGFL is the portal where all schools access the Internet in Birmingham UK.

The site is not perfect and in no way finished yet graphically or with what I want it to do.

So I would like to pass the thanks on to the PostNuke team for the system and there hardwork which has helped our school win this award.

Cheers
