thanks

Footnote: 1

for all who have multisites problems

I deleted everything and installed phönix completely new following the instructions from portal)zine.de (equal to the most howtos)

I always got errors like ADONew Connection failed or so.....

I had my whoisit.inc.php as it shoud be

The folders in the parameters had the names:
domain1, sub1.domain1, sub2.domain1

(as told in all how tos)(whoisit should complete ie domain1 to www.domain1.com

the solution was quite simple:

i renamed all folders in the parameters folder to the whole domain name

www.domain1.com
sub1.domain1.com
sub2.domain1.com

and everything worked....

I guess this will help those of you who usually trust tutorials.

WYSING-Editor and add Photos to Articles

All VPK, Skills, Mods to Nuke and PostNuke which have 1597 features, but providing editorial texts, articles with photos Joke!
However a combination of IndyNews (article with photos) with WYSING it does not give today and the Autors chops the texts in a 14x16 to small box and must format with b, i, big... the text or can with a WYSING editor change 2500 colors and 180 Fonts (what a imbecility) but it is not possible to add photos with caption as attach.
Instead of ever more features to insert one should
create times a meaningful editorship system for the
articles.
Many greetings Roland

PostNuke 0.72, Phoenix Release

Albeit we have done our best to test these files, both in upgrades and straight installations, it is quite possible that there are still some bugs or problems. Please report those to us directly, or in this article's comments, so we can address them.

You can download the files here:

PostNuke 0.72 Phoenix Release

PostNuke+Encompass 0.72 Phoenix Upgrade

First of all, before you do anything, be sure to backup both your site's directory, as well as the mysql database.

To perform an upgrade : there is no need to delete all of your files, just overwrite them with the files from the /html/ directory, and run 'install.php', select 'upgrade' and the script should do the rest.

For a virgin installation : proceed as you normally would with a PostNuke installation, un-archive the files, run the install.php in the /html/ directory, and follow the installation directions.

NOTE: In the case of an Encompass installation, you are required to already have an Encompass installation running and operational - in other words, you can not do an Encompass installation, just an upgrade to an existing installation.

Major kudos and appreciation to the developers that worked hard on the 0.72 release, and that made many of the improvements and bug stomping possible.

Taken from the original release article:

Special Thanks For the following people:
johnny, byron, miko, larsneo, hinrich, and ender for their ceaseless assault on bugs and PostNuke usability.

Here is a list of some of the changes
(to view the rest, checkout the changelog.txt)
ADODB 2.30 - Pablo Roca
Updated German Language files - larsneo & hinrich
chinese(zho) language translations - class_007
configurable compression support- hinrich
xml-rpc fixes - marcel
field length fixes - miko & johnny

and of course many more bugs squashed.

Getting back on track...!

P.S. There will be more information forthcoming, but I wanted to get this preliminary mission statement out as soon as possible. Feel free to comment, critique, suggest, etc... I will be checking this thread, and will respond to all reasonable comments to the best of my abilities.

A Fond Farewell!

I have greatly enjoyed my time working side by side with some of the most fantastic people in the world. It has been a wonderful experience for me, and I want to thank each and every one of you for jumping in and helping PostNuke towards the 1.0 release.

Somewhere in the past two months, I have lost my drive to deal with the criticism, as well as the praise. So, as unfortunate as it seems to be that I cannot complete my tenure, it is in the best interests of the community.

Effective immediately, Harry Zink is the Project Manager for PostNuke. His views and my views seem to be at the opposite end of the spectrum, however we both want PostNuke to succeed, so I feel the change is right. Harry is the last founding member of PostNuke, and therefore makes sense that he should take over the realms.

As for me, I am going to be working on some new projects, spending more time with the wife and kids, and basking in the good old days, where the largest problem that I had to deal with on a software project was how best to kill a bug.

Once again, thanks for the memories. I wouldn't have traded my time and lessons for anything.
