Places to Promote your postnuked site

If anyone needs special help with building traffic to their site, I am available to help. Webmastering is more than good code. It's pretty graphics, and convincing the rest of the net they want to drop in and visit. If you run a local directory, do flyers. Leave them at the local coffee shops, beauty parlors,etc... Get the business owners aware of you...

Since I add most of my links by hand, I rewrote weblinks to send them an email after submission and acceptance - the email tells them some of the things they can do on the site -- like view the weather, send greeting cards, find anything going on in memphis, etc... this small detail improved my traffic tenfold... also, the business owners then are ware of you as a site...

I also encourage the use of traffic building modules like personals, pn crush, etc...

I am available on a consulting basis for anyone who needs a spike in their traffic (and I'm dirt cheap.) and have a library of scripts to serve most needs.

Also if you need consulting for postnuke with an adult site, I am available on a case by case basis and have specific scripting for this industry segment.

Now go out there and drive traffic!

A Firm Stance

I will be involved in postnuke to any role the current management sees fit to utilize my skills and talents.

I have no official status at this point, I'm just a gung ho developer. I have no authority or power. Just a voice. I am not an admin, I don't have cvs rights... But I for one believe a lot of people are angry and are just trying to let off steam...

It's been a long tough year for postnuke... Between my auto wreck in January (I'm still recovering and limping and hurting), Somora (pixcelmayhem.com) was also in an auto wreck in January, Greg Allan was killed in a motorcycle wreck, John deciding he's tired, and now people wanting Harry's blood.

I'm here to develop. I'm here to promote my sites, I'm here to have fun. About these things, I am adamant.

Perhaps Harry aught to grab the bull by the cahones and name the new support staff as there are many openings...

Harry, perhaps you need to get the new core lined up and inform them of the reorg.

A private corporation doesn't let the employees pick the management -- the crown was handed to Harry -- I respect this and have no political beefs with anyone. We're all worker bees -- the ones that are bitching surely won't be given keys to the Porsche if you know what I mean.

I'm here, I support postnuke and am ready to get back to development. I'll take my role seriously and will push for a better product. That's all any of us can do... I don't have time for games, I just want my site to be the best damned site about Memphis. Postnuke has made that possible.. Now I give back to the community again

PostNuke Sites Revamp Coming...

One of the major points to be brought up at the Town Meeting was both accessibility and organization of information across the PostNuke network of web-sites and sub-sites - so we are planning a major overhaul in bringing all of the various PostNuke resources under one roof, as much as we can (obviously, developer and file hosting resources will still remain with our friends at HostNuke.) This, along with a consistent navigation structure, should greatly enhance your ability to find stuff.

Part of this endeavor will naturally also be a major redesign of the current look, thus theme, of the site. There's a couple of designs we're currently examining -- and therein lies my quandary, right now.

One of the designs we're looking at is based, and uses the Encompass engine to achieve some of its layout and features - and if Encompass (because of the past theme engine wars) were not such a controversial issue, the decision would truly be an easy one. But because Encompass was at one point demonized, and because it's at the core of another fork, there's certainly some controversy associated with such a choice - and I wanted to make sure to share the quandary of my decisionmaking process with you.

The theme is nice, clean and works well to achieve our goals. I certainly would like to give it a try - partially because it looks nice, does what we need, but it would also allow us to test Encompass under heavy load, to see how it stands up.

On the other hand, I want to avoid a potential issue, and thus will not unbexpectedly dump a 'fait accompli' on everyone, without at least hearing some feedback from you.

Hence, let me know what you think! Would it matter to you what theme engine we use on this site? Would you rather we not? Do you want to see what can be achieved, and if/how it can be useful to you? [None of this will affect what will be included in the code releases].

Let me know. I'm looking for your opinions.

Harry
