Also, according to the MMCache homepage, MMCache is only outperformed by the Zend Accelerator suite.
MMCache also has an encoder (like PHP Accelerator) but it's totally free as well. Great for if you want to encode your PHP and distribute it without source.
Either way, if you're running a busy PostNuke site, you should be running one of these PHP Caching modules to get the maximum speed from your website. Performance gains are around the 450% mark with MMCache. Not bad for a 90k Zend extension!

The forum is back up and in its original state after the hard disk crashed in the other server, lucky I had a back up of the sites SQL but not the files.
We now have our very own server and should not have any problems with it (fingers crossed) and the site looks just about the same as it used too.
Thanks to all who helped on PHProfession during this time and I'im glad to say our central discussion and test site is back.
please post any comments and updates on what has been going on since we were down here. Any changes you have made or updates you know where to add those in the message board.

Go to <A href="http://www.alltheweb.com"target="_new">www.alltheweb.com and try a query like "<A href="http://www.alltheweb.com/search?cat=web&cs=iso-8859-1&q=url%3A+postnuke.com&_sb_lang=fr+en"target="_new">url: postnuke.com" (or click the link). You'll get a long list of links; scroll down to a link that looks something like this one "<font color="green">more hits from: http://news.postnuke.com/modules.php?...</font>" and click it. Wait for the page to load and check out the address bar. It's a full Postnuke url in all its ugly multiparameter glory.
I don't know if this is news to anyone but me, but I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere. As it could be so potentially useful to *nuke users (not just PN users), it might be worth everyone's time to try to drive a little traffic towards www.alltheweb.com, or alternately, to lobby Google to get it together when it comes to those looong urls of ours.

One must figure out how to
convert properly when sending email from the site, and when importing headlines from an rss feed, for example. Proper use of encoding is essential when generating
language-specific rss feeds, as well.
Japanese developers working mostly with xoops and movable type have come up with a
nice solution that works even on sites that are multilingually-challenged (the php is not set to handle mb).
wi777 has made much progress in his own way, of late. Those of you using phpBB2 for postnuke will appreciate his efforts, especially, I think. His
most recent note is in Chinese, but I think you will be able to understand most of it. Code is universal, right? :) You can see where he was going a few months back by looking at his earlier English comments in the same thread. For those of you who have answers to his remaining questions, or questions to ask of him or others, the thread is open to you, in the language of your choice.
Best to be quick though; before he moves on to something else.
One of our special projects and contributions to the community at large has been our documentation-project. And in the future we are planning various other projects that you can look forward to that will also serve your needs better and keep you up-to-date about Postnuke.
We're also pleased to note one of PostNuke's core-developers, larsneo, plays a very active role on the post-nuke.net team.
Come by and visit us sometime,

This site is an opportunity for Idaho residents to casually "sound off" and publish their own articles . As a former resident of Idaho, I can safely say they have been fearful of utilizing their own voices!
Now they can!
Thanks to the Postnuke community, I have been able to provide the people with a truely interactive website with very little work on my part.
