On the virtues of being patient

I had no problems with the last version of fall-out, but Mutant, that's another story. I wouldn't even call dot sixtyone a "stable" version. Not complaining here, just want to make a point. I believe that others would agree that while we would all like to see every possible feature developed, and have it yesterday, that's not the best avenue to stable code.

Please don't let all of us rush you into releasing "Rogue" only to have it full of problems. If we could all be a little more patient it would allow the team more time to actually work on the program we all love and also have the time to check for all those little annoyances. And just think of all the time they could save and put into further development if they weren't having to answer all our questions on how to fix this or that.

Bottom line? Let's all give the team time to work, not be so quick to take advantage of their helpfulness in the forums, and do our best to learn that patience is a virtue!

Some questions when using PNuke as an Intranet...

My problem is the following though: I would like to restrict access to the URL via password. O.k., so I was thinking of using .htaccess with aproximately 90 names and passwords (one name-password for each Intranet member). This is no big deal. The point is, I would like users to DIRECTLY be logged in as users upon successful submission of Login data (htaccess).

Does anybody have a cool idea? I was thinking of perhaps displaying the user.php prior to any other page. Without successful login, people would not be able to access thre rest.

Again: Does anybody have a cool idea? I am sure the community would be benefit, too!!!

Satus of next release of PN

I'm in a situation where I'll have to choose something soon for one of my customer's web site and PN looks like what I'd like to use.

I have a little time yet so please help me with some indication regarding how long I/we have to wait for the next release? Is version 1.0 near by? Should I run/use somthing else? Should I use Mutant and upgrade? I'd really rather do a fresh install with the latest build if its not too far away.

1.0 is a ways off. We have quite a few things left to do to fulfill our original scope and vision of the project. Please read the article in the sections for more information on the vision.

Is there someting just around the corner to replace Mutant? What and when will it be? Just your best estimate please.

Well, there is actually going to be a feature freeze this evening to start bug checking and fixing what we have now for another Mutant package. The .7 series sub-titled "Rogue" will start to show it's head in September if all goes as expected.

Thanks for the help and keep up the good work guys!
