I was wondering if it might not make sense to have a module registry page so that people converting modules to work with .64 and on have a place to let everyone know the status?
This would be great in that we all wouldn't be trying to covert the same scripts and could join conversions already in progress. This would also serve as a way to (on a single page) to show everyone modules that are being converted for .64 and beyond so that they won't scour the site looking for modules and surfing the net to find the locations.
Thoughts?
P.S. This is what I consider preemtive strike on people wanting to find .64 modules.
http://defaced.alldas.de/?attacker=Tzunami&p=1 and i am researching this about 3/4 the sites are iether nuke, post nuke or a variant... so, let's band together here as this guy is putting extreme political diatribe on the index.php -- well, the fbi will nail his butt to the wall what with current political conditions... just had to rant
If each module had an installer script ( ie unzip to temp dir, copy to nuke tree, make adjustements, build tables, change permissions, select options ) then these could be put into a master script to install all modules in one command.
I beleive it would be easier to have everything install and then disable the modules through admin that you do not use.
Add this idea to a mysqldump of all the databases ( ie post-nuke, Cart, forums etc ) and you would have a complete upgrade solution.
1) Dump DBs
2) Install post-nuke .64
3) Bulk install modules
4) Restore DBs
