The State of the Galaxy Address

My site at http://www.fictiongalaxy.com has been a great sucess. I know some sites have been boasting 1,000 of new impressions a day, but for me just to have the old ones come back again and again is good enough for me.

Currently I am getting 5 to 10 new signups a day starting at the first of this month. Thousands of visitors and good reviews. There have been a few bugs, but we are slowly coming to terms with them and can hardly wait for the newest versions of Post Nuke Rogue.

I wanted to share with you all the secrets to my success and yes I view it as a success.

#1 - Put your expectations low and you will be surprised with the results.

#2 - Submit to all the search engines of course, but I have searched out the news groups and posted an brief plug for my site. I have also joined alot of yahoo groups and have plugged my community there as well. I also announce when I got an new poll to the yahoo group, this will equal few new signups and visits.

#3 - Keep working, promoting a website is alot of work.

I am sure there are other secrets to the sucess of a website, but I just thought I would share those. I have gotten 105 members and now waiting for an 100 more within a week. Good luck to you all and your own communities.

Thanks,
Theresa

PostNuke CeBit meeting

GDATA is not related to PostNuke in any way. I had a chance to exhibit a website with them last year and they are nice folks - that's the only reason why we pointed them out. :)

For additional information about the CeBit, please see our wiki-page and also the list of participants.

The official webpage of the CeBit (also available in English) is at http://www.cebit.de/

Please feel free to leave any ideas / impressions or useful links to exhibitors that might be of interest for PostNukers either as a comment here or add it to our wiki.
However, I have some additional links and addresses to companies that you could visit to get "inspirations" for PostNuke. :)

Corporate Ideas - Forum Discussion & Mailing List

Tool #1:
A new forum labeled "Corp Ideas" has been created on the PostNuke site. This forum is a method in which to document (in one central location) everyone's ideas and solutions to situations they have encountered while integrating a PostNuke site into an Intranet or Commercial endeavor. Click here to enter the forum.

Tool #2:
A mailing list, hosted and run, by the PN team can be subscribed to at this address: corpideas-subscribe@postnuke.com My hope is that this list will be used in a similar manner as the PN Dev list for building new PN modules or PN modifications.

These tools are great additions to the PN community and I hope that all the ideas and solutions generated within them can be utilized and tied back into the PostNuke system for the benefit of all.
